I'M ALWAYS AMAZED when breeders guess that they have 'about a hundred' eggs... I just don't believe it! Typical spawns are 400 to 1,200 eggs. To accurately estimate your egg count, use your computer to print a 1/4" grid (about 6mm square's) on a transparent sheet. Tape it to the side of your tank near the slate. Using a strong hand lens and good light, count the eggs in several cells. Estimate the number of full cells, and multiply the answers.
